Alice Milligan: Foundation President
Alice is a founding member of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation, helping garner the passage of a hospital bond to build LVMC and raising several million dollars for the hospital’s capital improvements and needs.
A Lompoc native, Alice spent 43 years working for the Lompoc Unified School District, retiring in 1995 as Associate Superintendent. She spent her career in administration, working in personnel, budgeting, new construction, land purchase, transportation operations, policy development, information systems and more.
She has been active throughout the Lompoc Valley in fundraising, bond passages, political campaigns and preservation efforts. She has been involved in the campaigns to build the Lompoc Valley Medical Center; to preserve the Lompoc Civic Center Auditorium; to expand the Cabrillo High School Aquarium and to coordinate the renovation of the Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building.
She was named in 2000 by the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce as the Lompoc Woman of the Decade for the 1990s and in 2001 was the 4th District awardee as Woman of the Year for Santa Barbara County.
Alice has also been active in the city of Lompoc’s Downtown Revitalization Committee; helped establish the Lompoc Olde Towne Market; has worked to ensure local beach access and previously received a National PTA Board of Directors award.
