For the past 26 years, the nonprofit Lompoc Hospital District Foundation has reached out to the community for financial help.

More than $12,500 was raised this year for the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation from the 2016 Holiday Home Tour and Tea.

The event, which took place Dec. 11, included self-guided tours of four spectacular homes, as well as a delectable array of culinary treats at the Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s Ocean’s Seven Café.

Lompoc Valley Medical Center and the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s Community Education Committee invite the public to a Disaster PrepareAthon on Oct. 22.

The interactive family-friendly event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on LVMC’s main parking lot and lawn at 1515 E. Ocean Ave. “It is time for Lompoc to get prepared and for LVMC to help our community to help themselves with a strong brace of support from our Lompoc Fire Department, Red Cross, Lompoc Police Department, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department and many local collaborating agencies,” said LVMC Outreach Coordinator Karen Ortiz.
